I’ve been loving matcha lately! It has a different energy feel than coffee. This smoothie is a perfect morning boost or an early afternoon pick-me-up!

Ingredients (Serves 1)

  • 1 tsp matcha powder (I prefer ceremonial grade)
  • 1/2 frozen banana (for natural sweetness and creaminess)
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk (or preferred nut milk)
  • 1/4 cup coconut yogurt (plain or vanilla-flavored)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (or seeds from 1/4 vanilla bean)
  • 1 tbsp almond butter or cashew butter
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
  • I like to add a couple ice cubes

Directions

  1. Combine your matcha, frozen banana, almond milk, coconut yogurt, vanilla, nut butter, honey/maple syrup, and ice cubes in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with more almond milk if needed
  3. Sprinkle of matcha powder or shredded coconut
